KeePassXC: Set up Database Entry with TOTP

After opening the previously created or existing database in KeePassXC, TOTP must be configured for an entry. It is recommended to first change a global time setting.

1. Click on the cogwheel icon or via the menu on "Tools" and "Settings".
2. Switch to the "Security" category.
3. Change the"Clear clipboard after" value to"30" seconds.
4. Click on the "OK" button to save the change.

1. Click on the plus icon or in the menu on "Entries" and "New entry ...".
2. Enter a title for the database entry.
3. Click on"OK" to save the database entry.
4. Right-click on the database entry or click on "Entries" in the menu.
5. Under "TOTP", select the menu item "Set up TOTP ...".
6. Paste the TOTP secret into the"Secret key" field.
   When copying and pasting the TOTP secret, make sure to remove any superfluous spaces at the beginning and end!
7. Click on"OK" to complete the setup.
