Account deletion

The most important information about account deletion at a glance:

• You will receive three expiry notifications by e-mail.
• After your account expires, you have a grace period of 30 weeks (UMG employees: 4 weeks).
• During the grace period, you can continue to use your account as usual.
• Restrictions: You will no longer be able to open doors with your key card, and you will no longer be able to access licensed online publications via VPN.
• To continue using VPN access for internal university services, you must switch to the technical VPN profile.
• After the grace period has expired, your account will be deactivated. With the deactivation of your personal user account, you will be removed from responsibility for all resources registered to you personally at the URZ (functional accounts, IP address reservations, capacities in the backup service, etc.).

Therefore, please make sure to transfer the resources to another user during the grace period (if still required). Your personal user account will be permanently deleted 1 year after the authorisation to use it expires.
 

All persons who have a guest account or whose account has exceeded the validity date can delete their account independently in the account management before the end of the grace period.
