Signature verification in Mozilla Thunderbird

If an email has been digitally signed, it is marked with a special icon (S/MIME with a seal). If you see this icon and the sender’s address is correct, the email is genuine!

To find out details about the sender and their certificate, click on the S/MIME icon. This will open the information window shown in the image above.
