Conference access
The URZ offers you conference access to the university WiFi for the organisation of conferences and events. In contrast to eduroam access, these are time-limited accesses to the conference WiFi.
Conference access is only available in the University of Greifswald’s buildings – not University Medicine Greifswald!
If you require conference access in one of University Medicine’s buildings, please contact the members of staff responsible for IT at University Medicine Greifswald: umg-it-netzmed.uni-greifswaldde
To access the conference network, please follow these steps:
- Please request a resource of the type “Conference Wi-Fi” in Account Management, using a descriptive username
- The resource description must contain the following information:
- the name of the conference
- Link to the conference/event website
- Please specify the first and last day of the conference in the field below. The URZ grants a lead time of two days prior to the start of the conference/event for testing purposes
Once the request has been processed, you will automatically receive an email with a generated password. Using the chosen username and the password provided, it will then be possible to log in to the captive portal during the specified period. The login details can be made available to all conference participants.
Use of the conference access
Access to the conference WiFi is gained by dialling into the network tagung with the password tagung@unihgw. When connecting, a login screen (CaptivePortal) is opened, where the transmitted access data must then be entered.
