Expiration of the easyroam profiles

Access to eduroam via easyroam is no longer based on passwords but on certificates, which are provided to you as a so-called profile. These profiles are valid for 180 days.

In the last 14 days before a profile expires, you will receive a daily e-mail with the exact dates on which your profile will expire. At this point, you should take action and renew the profile concerned.

Once you have done this, you will probably continue to receive the aforementioned expiry warning. This is due to the fact that a manual profile renewal (without using the easyroam app) only creates a new profile but does not delete the old one. To stop receiving the expiry warnings, you have two options

  1. Ignore these e-mails, as they are only sent for 14 days (after which the profile has expired and you will no longer receive a warning) or
  2. You log in to the easyroam portal and delete the affected profile prematurely.
